A doctoral degree in clinical psychology
provides career flexibility in terms of what you can do and the types of
settings in which you can practice. Our
Psy.D. degree (e.g., a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology) is based on a
practitioner-scholar model of training and is designed to produces experts who
use current research to inform and support their practice.
You will still be studying statistics, conducting research, and becoming fully
engaged in professional development activities (e.g., attending and presenting research
at local, regional, and national conferences, etc.) The focus of the program
will require you to use your critical thinking skills, knowledge of existing literature, and
appreciation of data analysis strategies and research methodology to help make your clients'
lives better and improve their overall health and well-being.
As a professional psychologist with a Psy.D.degree from Forest, you will be
uniquely prepared to provide direct intervention and assessment services to a
wide range of clients and presenting conditions, function in a variety of
settings (ranging from private practice to the Federal Bureau of Prisons), as
well as provide supervisory and/or administrative oversight of other
professionals and trainees. We believe it is important that our program model
